On June 2, 2022, at the Experimental Campus of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering in Ha Nam, the Faculty of Environmental Engineering of HUCE solemnly held a ceremony to launch a tree planting drive to celebrate World environment day with the theme of “One more tree planted is one step closer to protect the environment.”
Attending the ceremony, there was the participation of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Duy Hoa - Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of the University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Giang – Vice Rector; MSc. Pham Thi Thuy Huong – Deputy Head of the Department of Corporate Affairs & Management; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Viet Nga - Dean of Faculty of Environmental Economics; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Luong - Vice Dean of Faculty; MSc. Nguyen Thanh Trung - Vice Dean of Faculty with teachers, teachers and students of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering.
In response to World Environment Day as well as in an attempt to contribute to environmental protection, Faculty of Environmental Science and Technology will implement the project entitled "Each individual – Each tree planted". This implies that each graduated scholar set a goal to plant a tree which is a small action but creates a big impact on the work of environmental protection. It helps arouse the spirit and sense of preserving and making human life environmentally eco-friendly and sustainable. Planting trees on campus at Ha Nam campus is a kicking-off of the project, shared by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Viet Nga at the beginning of the ceremony.

Faculty of Environmental Economics has always been taking the lead and playing a part in environmental protection, simultaneously, providing a friendly learning space and green landscape on the school campus, a statement of encouragement made by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Duy Hoa.
The Rector also shared: “The act of planting trees today is not only a practical meaning of environmental protection but also a social action, with profound and humane meanings. Those trees which are being planted today will grow up and give shade to our children's generation."
Staff and students of the University were expected to always be aware of taking care of trees so that the campus of HUCE is covered with trees. He also stressed the responsibility of students particularly in the movement of tree planting as they are the future owners to protect and build a good world for humanity.

World Environment Day 2022 was launched by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) with the theme of "Only One Earth" to convey the message of building a sustainable lifestyle in harmony with nature; rationally utilizing natural resources, biodiversity and responding to climate change through policies and activities towards a greener, cleaner lifestyle.
